OUR PARKS & FACILITIES

Ashford Park is located at the corner of Ashford Avenue and McCormick Drive (at the entrance leading to the Ardsley Middle School). Park facilities: Gazebo, playground equipment, skatepark, 4 tennis courts with lights, basketball court, softball / baseball diamond, soccer fields, picnic areas, restrooms, snack bar and more.

McDowell Park is located on Heatherdell Road. Park facilities: Four ball fields, basketball court, pavilion, snackbar and restrooms.

Pocket parks: Pocost Memorial Park, Bi-centennial Park, Silliman Park, Legion Park, Firefighters Park and Floyd Lichtenberg Park (library).

Thelma Zimmer-William Van Dorn Youth & Community Center is located at 18 Center Street. Facilities: Large party room with kitchen and bathrooms. Also has pool table, ping-pong table, big screen television and more.

Note: Macy Park located on Route 9A is a Westchester County Park. To reserve park facilities or pavilion call 864-7070.

No alcohol permitted in parks.

Points of Interest

The area that includes the Village of Ardsley was originally inhabited by the Weckqueskecks, a branch of the Mohican tribe of the Algonquin nation. Ashford Avenue, the main road, was once a trail used by the Indians to travel from the Hudson River to Long Island Sound.

Large portions of the village were demolished to make for the Mill River Parkway and the New York State Thruway
