We offer boating, fishing and, most importantly, swimming to Town residents totally free of charge. The beach is fully staffed with trained lifeguards for your family’s safety. Picnic tables and barbecues are available for cookouts. There is even a covered pavilion that can be reserved for your birthday party, family reunion or what have you. The Beach is generally open from late-June through Labor Day.

The Town of Brunswick is served by five volunteer fire companies, the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Department, the New York State Police and Mohawk Ambulance.

The Town of Brunswick was incorporated on March 20, 1807 and will be celebrating its Bicentennial throughout 2007. The Brunswick Bicentennial Committee and the Brunswick Historical Society invite you to join our efforts to commemorate the occasion of our Town's 200th Anniversary.

The Brunswick Historical Society's mission is to bring together individuals and families interested in history, especially history of the Town of Brunswick and Rensselaer County, NY.

Veterans Memorial Park in Eagle Mills has memorials to veterans of World War One, World War Two, Korea and Vietnam.

See Troy

The Town of Brunswick is east of Troy, New York, but on the west side of the county. The reputedly haunted Forest Park Cemetery is located on Pinewoods Avenue west of the hamlet of Eagle Mills.

The town is believed to have been settled before 1745. The town was formed from part of Troy, New York (then the "Town of Troy") in 1807. Herman Melville once taught briefly in the local school district.

Brunswick -- The hamlet of Brunswick is located in the eastern part of the town on Route 351.

Center Brunswick -- A hamlet in the northwest part of the town on Route 7.

Cropseyville -- A hamlet on Route 2 in the east part of the town.

Clums Corner -- A hamlet on Route 2 in the east part of the town, northwest of Brunswick village.

Eagle Mills -- A hamlet in the south part of the town, west of Brunswick village.

Haynersville -- A hamlet on Route 7 in the north part of the town. * Mountain View -- A hamlet at the south town line.

Sycaway -- A hamlet in the western part of the town, near the city line of Troy.

Tamarac -- A hamlet on Route 129. It was formerly called "Platestown."
