Points of Interest
- Clermont Academy
- I am trying to find any information on the school in
Clermont NY. I and my older brother attended what I beleive is now
called the Academy. It was a public school and classes were in the room
on the left of the enterance. I remember first through sixgrades were
in that one room . The years I am referring to are 1940-42. I also
recall the bell rope in the hallway that would ring the bell to
indicate recess was over. I also had a photo taken of the whole school
classes (maybe 12 students) and the teacher. I remember twin girls,
Diane and Doreen in the picture.I have since misplaced the photo. Is
there any records of classes being held there? I remember living at
Luther Smith's house on the road to Germantown, and Ben Websters farm
house not far from the school. Any information you can furnish or any
contacts with more info would be greatly appreciated. My name is Ronald
Geary and my Brothers name is Dwayne. I am 70 years old and he is 72. I
now live in Perry, Ga. Thank you very much, Ron
