American Legion Logo

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization. A community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members -- men and women -- in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts worldwide. These Posts are organized into 55 Departments -- one each for the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico, and the Philippines.

American Legion Auxiliary
Ladies Auxiliary The Auxiliary is a very important part of the American Legion. They too stand for the same things that the SAL and the Legion stand for. Through various fund raising throughout the year, they send chosen students to Girls State annually and help members and citizens in financial and emotional need.
The Sons of The American Legion
We are an organization consisting of descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of The American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during World War I & II, and Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, and the Persian Gulf War, during the delimiting periods set forth in Article IV, Section 1, of the National Constitution of The American Legion, or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service.
