KINGSTON, NY -- A memorial service for Dr. Jack Soltanoff, who died April 23, 2000, will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Emanuel, 243 Albany Ave.

Nutrition Expert, the late Doctor J. Soltanoff, was practicing chiropractor and internationally recognized authority on nutrition, exercise, vitamins and all aspects of natural health has contributed his columns to the Bear Systems nutrition web pages beginning in July, 1996.

It will introduce our visitors to common sense nutrition and its relationship to health, regeneration, and longevity, Macropbiotic, vegetarian, high and low protein diets will be discussed along with fasting, yoga, exercise and food supplements. Other topics will include various health therapies such as transcendental meditation, biofeedback, acupuncture, acupressure, zone therapy, Gestalt and Reichian therapy, Rolfing, homeopathy, megavitamins, breathing techniques, pollution of food, water and air and WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT - in short, "how to survive in a dying planet."

Doctor Soltanoff is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Institute for Nutritional Research and the National Association for Preventive Nutrition, as well as a staff member of The Edgar Cayce Foundation of Virginia Beach, VA. He is listed in Who's Who in the East.

Doctor Soltanoff has taught an adult course in nutrition at Ulster County Community College and at several colleges in Florida. He has published widely in the fields of nutrition, ecology and the natural health sciences and has taken care of a host of famous patients in this country and abroad, including folk singers Bob Dylan and John Hammond, author Norman Mailer, actresses Faye Dunnaway, Marsha Mason and Viveca Lindfors, actors Burt Convy, Harry Guardino and Hugh Marlowe, drummer Buddy Rich, former light heavy weight champion Jose Torres and pro golfer Bob Murphy. Artists Peter Max and Nicholas Spirakis, Commentary magazine editor Norman Podhoretz and Vogue models Judith GreenArmitage and Elizabeth Cooper - also pop singer Judy Collins, comedian Joe E. Lewis, musician Charles Mingus and Hollywood screen writer Howard Koch (Casablanca, The War of the Worlds, etc.)
